I had a slight concern when beginning my clerkship that I wouldn’t enjoy the work from my team. This turned out to be an unfounded concern as with the bipartite system, each summer clerk is allocated a second practice group in addition to your primary team. This allows you the opportunity to attend training sessions and complete work in both areas. The diversity of experience on offer is limited only by what you’re willing to try.

The bipartite system works really well. Instead of changing teams half way through the summer, you stay in one team and build long-lasting relationships there, while being able to try out other teams around the firm. It’s very flexible, and often means you’ll end up enjoying a practice area that you might not have thought of trying at all.
