If shortlisted for an interview, you will receive a letter in the mail with all the details.
We try to make the interview process as comfortable as possible for you. The interviewers will include one Partner plus a member of our HR team. The interview itself includes both structured and behavioural questions and lasts about 40 minutes. Each candidate is asked a similar set of questions.
The Interview
What to do next:
- Prepare and research the firm at www.russellmcveagh.com and www.summerclerk.co.nz
- Think of possible interview questions and how you might answer these
- Reread your application so the details are fresh
What to wear:
For many of you, this may be your first interview. If you are applying for the Russell McVeagh School Leavers’ Scholarship, you can just wear your school uniform. First impressions do help, so make sure your shoes are polished, shirt is ironed and hair is tidy.
University applicants for summer clerk, graduate or scholarship positions , we won’t make you pull your school uniform out of the garage! When deciding what to wear, dress on the conservative side while still ensuring your personality comes through. If you like to wear colour, wear colour. If you can’t walk in 12-inch heels - don’t wear them! The important thing is that you are comfortable.
Just remember you are interviewing for a position in a corporate environment, so ensure that whatever you do decide to wear aligns with that.
On the day of your interview:
- Don’t stress!
- Allow yourself plenty of time to get ready and get to the interview.
- Arrive 15 minutes early so you can catch your breath and relax.
- Be confident and honest. You have been selected for an interview because we are impressed with your application. This is an opportunity for us to get to know you better and vice versa.
After the interview:
- Offers will be delivered on Thursday 9 May 2013. Please do not worry if you haven't heard from us before then.
- If you have any questions in the meantime, please send them through to Mychelle Hellmann.
